In my opinion india education is not better than the abroad because if india has better education than why many students is going abroad for their higher studies in our country their r so many scientist who go abroad for higher studies and get their job in abroad because of healthy salary and they know that in abroad technology is soo good and thats why they r counted in developed country but in india there so much corruption in all field include education sytem also and becuase of corruption education system is slow than abroad like example of uttar-pradesh , ...etc student perform well but some teachers r not check copyies cleary thats why student not get good marks and student thinks that they can't do any in life they take wrong step.

Hello everyone, whatever all of u said is right. But as we know that coin has two sides likewise in iIndia also education is good but not as good as other nations. We know everything conceptually but we have least knowledge about the practicals and its applications also. So just don't mug up understand it practically then see our India will surely become the best nation..

According to me the education system in India is best ecause in Indian goverment provide a lots of facilities for all the student which are belong from rich family or poor faimly. Indian government provide a lots of books free of cost for student, also give cloth, money for study. So i say education system is best but some improvement is most required for caring the education field becase all facilities are not getting all student.

In India we grow with an ideology that we have to do a certain kind of job that our parents want not what we want,so our education goes on the line as they want. But in foreign countries this is not the case. They are given much practical knowledge and ideas of implementing their knowledge.. Though we have more theoritical knowledge than the but we lack basic skills and practicalities.

In India, just mugguping the answers and donot know the reason for their their 20 years of their study nothing is made into practical just studying for their degree not with the interest. Government should change it and should implement pratical study.

Education does not only means to gain money, it actually acts as a bridge between the child and his practicality and goals. It does not only means to study hard and working in well paid jobs but it actually works when we implement it in our daily lifestyle. So we conclude that we should extend the horizon of our imagination.
Shivankit soodsaysApr 28, 2014
According to me instead of one nation one exam the government of INDIA should focus on one nation one board if only one board is followed all over the nation then the knowledge level of each and every student will come at same peak and so education will not be differentiated on basis of state board, CBSE or ICSE boards.

There are many talented students are India but due to reservations there are geting depresed. Though they have talents, no one finding them. So they fly to foreign and their are showing talents their. b/c of this reason India is only developing country.

In my point of view. I see all above posts they are saying india is one of the great country but education change is important because foreign countries students are thinking creatively because those from school have good practical knowledge. In India change education system now 80% theory and 20% only practical knowledge in india. so india system change is mandatory.

Though India is the best, educationally. It is not at all giving the opportunity for students to get on with their own fantasies i.e,their own subject..thier own jobs. It is forcing all the students to study the same boring unintersted unuseful subjects upto a particular level. Which is very annoying for so many students....for example , a student is intersted in computer programming and he starves for it. But he has to study chemistry and physics in which he might not be as intelligent or he dislikes those subject wich doesnt do anything in computer programming. Better, India’s educational system changes to the as best as possible.

Friends what u all said is totally true, but in point of view present education system focuses more on scores rather than knowledge, In india according to me, Its having 90% theoratical subjects even remaining 10% practical subjects aree of liminted Experiments and of expected outputs so our Indian gov.must concentrate on modifying the education system to give wonderful life for students.
SwapnilsaysMar 19, 2014
I think the education system of India is very as compare to abroad education system as there is focus of practical work /practical projects in India but only theoratical knowledge is given to students. So, as a result they lack in this real world to compete with others as they dont how to implement what they study.
Chetan Baviskar,saysMar 13, 2014
Actually Indian ancient education system was excellent. Now there are number of problems related to system, students. This is true that we are lagging in Practical knowledge. Also mug up the subjetcs. Not concentrate on single subject. We study everything. But we cant say that only the fault of education system. There is fault of us that we cant do anything for this. Why students only focus on the streams like Engineering, Medical, MBA, etc. Why dont we focus on our favourite stream.

The only thing is langauge foregn have the nation langauge as english.they use in daily need and for silly comunication. As you see i told that they worked hard becouse our nation have the so many langauges like hindi, marathi, telagu, tamil, kannad, and so on. Thats the people use to comunicate in daily needs, specialy a comman poor people. But they have good mind to get well education. But it cant provid by their situation, so english is the one media to show the knoledge in nower days. India as a Nation, has taken a giant leap in last decade in the field of Education System as a whole & lots of avenues have been opened for knowledge seekers to get education in their choosen field. Educational Institutions, course curriculam, teaching methods, infrastructure, Quality of Teachers, Environment, etc..... has changed a lot & India is certainly keeping pace with the changing trends at the Internatonal level. Qualified students in the field of Engineering, Medical,Management, IT & all other related fields are in great demand & have shined up at International jobs & proving their excellence. Yet lot to be done. Statutory controls are required against the commercialization of Edu. institutes but at the same time we need to understand that if we really want quality production in the field of education , we need to pay price for that. Let’s hope for the best.

In my point of view, In foreign, the students are required to submit regular assignments and have projects in their cuuriculum, but in India, students just mugs up the syllabus in the textbooks without understanding the concepts and practical implementations and then vomit in the paper to score more marks. Mainly their aim to attain good rank, not to improve the knowledge.

Well friend what u all said is true. In my opinion Indian education can be par with the other foreign education but the problem is the population and the system of no practical question asked in the exam but exam when it ask always ask along with the option of theory and practical problem and also give the choice to choose either practical or theory. I wish 50 - 50 theory and practical done and taught respectively in the college than only Indian education will be as good as other nation institutions. Lastly technology and infrastructure need to be upgraded tremendously. To enhance the growth of the intuitive analytical knowledge of the students.

One is private instiuition another one is government instituition, we just say this two type of the institution, then what will be happen in tothis instituition. I told some points of its.we take the private instituition(schools, colleges)the teachers are selected talent vicely. Because the private institution name is spread into other place and states, speak about the institution the profit is goes to the institution then at the same thing we take the government instituition the relation between the proffessors and students is bad, in this institution have no aim because its government institution. When the day in this two institution. Take equal place ineducation system,,that day indian edu sys is try to move a top of the postion the world.

Today’s Education system is more like a business institutes. Taking Admission in a good school is a difficult task for parents. It develops pressure not only to child but parents too. And once you get the admission in the school parents are realizing that their ward is not getting the education up to mark as in school just syllabubs is taught and heavy projects are given to the ward which actually parents completes. So Today’s education according to me is becoming commercial. Today’s education as reformed which is good but the teachers should understand their duties and put concentration on the child who is studying rather then having private tuitions.

Gd mng to all of you. As I came across to the detail analysis of education in india, the record released by various surveys say that 85‰ of general graduates and 75‰ of technical gradutes are employed. Reason for that itself marking a quation to the policy, implementation, and adherence. We today in 2013 have stepped in ni techand modern era bot still come across the education policies formed in 1964-69. Our education system and its effectiveness is deteriorating day and night as a study says that 40% of public sector teacher are absent from schools and indulging them outside in money making policies. So all in all our education system is not bad instead of that it has became obsolete as per the time and now there is utmost essence to revise the educational policy and monitoring implementation effectively so that better and fruitful results can be produced. Thank you

My point of view about Indian education system is that, it would be better if educational departments in India concentrates much in gaining knowledge instead of stressing students in scoring marks because knowledge is considered as an asset since olden days. Implementing the gained knowledge in practical way should be motivated by teachers only then a student knows the importance of learning. Teachers should be employed with wider vision not out of money basis.

My suggestion is that, The education system in India is not so good.
Recently the government of India has decided to accept the policy that the student from 1st std to 8th std should not come under the rusult being faild. Government is forcing the educational institute to pass every student either they are eligible or not. The logic behind this policy accepted by govt of India is that the student not be under place or tension or depression about the result.
Now what will happen if student comes to know that he is fail derectly in 9th std, so what resolution govt provide for this abruct tension & depression among these student.

Very good morning to all of u. According to me Indian education system is lacking in may points with comparison to foreign education system. Many political issues, reservation system, the rich persons who are opening a private institution to income there money only are influencing and harming our education system a lot. Now we r happy that NASA has 20% Indian scientist & 40% of engineers of India working in foreign..... n may more knowledgable persons are getting popular in India. But you can realize one thing that if we solve the above mentioned problems then we can get more educated persons. May be 50% of Indian scientist will be in NASA & 80% of engineers of all over the world should be from India. This is seem to be a dream now but its possible if the govt. of India & peoples of India will be more concern about these. Thank you. Have a good day.

I agree with all points. As we all know A.P.J Abdul Kalam, In his school years, he had average grades, but was desire to learn more practical knowledge. So he learned and became a great Scientist in India.. Suppose if a student get good marks in their subjects, we can't say he/she will have a good practical knowledge. So the education is based on which way the students are using that education.

What is the impediment I noticed is that the teachers, few people, are working ony for salary. Now a days it is too difficult to identify the teachers with a vision. They should be practiced by any means to cope up with the programmes drafted either by Central or State to sustain the quality of education. Awards to teachers should not be onthe basis of recommendations. Innovatives should be awarded.

Obviously it should compare. Yes its true india and foreign are totally differ, culture, educations, life leading each and every steps are differ but still we should compare all those good things of foreign. The education policy and system is much higher than indian system.
The Indian colleges and universities are totally theoretical based but foreign universities and colleges are totally practical oriented. In IT world we have to show practical knowledge. but it doesn't mean theory doesn't require. But should focused on more practical based. And another things which i have shown that indian universities are not proper professional. So for better future of indian students we should compare indian education system with foreign countries and should give up bookish knowledge and should take all those positive things from foreign.

I think rather than quoting our indian education system is based on theoretical basis rather practical basis as in foreign countries. we can quote them as our indian education system is based on marks rather than knowledge.
Both students and teachers are well much aware about some basic questions which are repeatedly asking in exams. They will prepare those and get marks easily. Infact we just need a crash course for all our education system rather than a full time education.

We have an entirely different motive of imparting education india compared to those in foreign countries. Indian minds are trained to think a lot in a logical and reasonable manner, when everything whereas in foreign nations its a more practical approach by way of open book exams where the use of brain is limited but emphasis is given to make children smart and sharp, as is evident foreign companies are always on a look out for young professionals in india which leads to brain drain!.

Do not use shorcut method.

Despite all the reasons you’ve very likely heard about the benefits of learning another language – good for your degree, good for your travels, good for your career – some people seem to think that being multilingual isn’t all that important anymore. We’re here to remind you that not only is it important, it may very well be necessary.

It’s true that there are more and more people learning and speaking English these days. In fact, English is, according to some measures, the most widely spoken language in the world, the de facto lingua franca. Approximately 1.5 billion people around the world speak English, whether as their native tongue or as a foreign language, and this number is still growing.

As Chinese universities (for example) offer more instruction to Chinese students in English, study abroad administrators and their students will start to de-emphasize language learning on programs. The same phenomenon is happening in all parts of the world. I think the natural trend will be to overlook the incredible benefits of language learning, and to more quickly embrace programs that require very little in terms of language. This is what we have to work against.

Mark Lenhart, Executive Director of CET Academic Programs

But why limit yourself? What about the other 5.5 billion people who don’t speak any English at all? Even if you don’t plan on ever setting foot outside your own town again, what happens if the world comes to you?

With ever-increasing levels of international trade and business, tourism, immigration, and random cross-cultural experiences, chances are you will eventually find yourself face-to-face with someone who doesn’t speak English, at least not up to a level you understand. The reasons to learn a foreign language or two have never been stronger. You don’t need to be a polyglot, but read on for reasons why language learning is still important.

1. You Have to Learn a Foreign Language for School

Learning a new language can be a part of your preparation for college or graduate school. Being able to speak a foreign language -- especially an in demand language like Chinese, Arabic, or Spanish -- and having experience with a different culture looks good on any application.

Many undergraduate programs and even some postgraduate courses have foreign language courses as part of their major or graduation requirements. At least two top international MBA business schools require all incoming students to know a second language in addition to English.

“One reason some students study language is because they are required to,” says Mark Lenhart, Executive Director of CET Academic Programs, a study abroad organization based in Washington, DC that designs innovative language and culture immersion programs abroad. “We sometimes have students tell us they choose our programs because the language classes fulfill a requirement."

2. It's Necessary for Your Work (or Better Prospects)

There aren’t many situations where language skills are the reason that someone gets passed over for a promotion, or even just to keep the job. But in an increasingly competitive job market, why would you not give yourself every possible edge?

But it’s not just about padding your resume. With globalization in full swing, there’s a good chance you’ll be working with people whose first language isn’t English. Maybe it’s a development team in India, or a manufacturing plant in China, or an alternative energy supplier in Germany; being able to communicate in other languages makes you much more valuable to an employer.

David Goodman-Smith, managing partner at China Study Abroad, a full-service agency based in Beijing, says his company’s fastest-growing group of students are people looking to enhance their employment opportunities. “Having that competitive edge on your CV these days can be invaluable and Mandarin is without a doubt an eye-catcher. Companies are on the lookout for these kind of experiences more and more,” he explains.

3. Your Family

It might be strange at first to think that you have to learn a new language for family reasons, but many people hail from immigrant families, and once you get into the second and third generation, it’s very often the case where the local language is your first language rather than your family’s original tongue.

David says China Study Abroad has seen more and more ethnic Chinese people going to China to study Mandarin. “As China grows [globally], families are more eager to make sure their children are not only more connected to their roots in China, but also that they have a good grasp of the language.”

I’m serious about this. We should understand that our young people, if you have a foreign language, that is a powerful tool to get a job. You are so much more employable. You can be part of international business. So we should be emphasizing foreign languages in our schools from an early age...

4. Because You Want to Travel Overseas

Unless your travel plans involve only English-speaking countries, you’ll probably want to learn a new language to make things easier for yourself.

Even knowing some basic words can help break the ice when you’re in a foreign country. It’s not the same as being able to have an entire conversation, but most people appreciate the fact that you’re trying to speak their language, even if you have to switch back to English right away.

By the way, our writers have come up with a few great lists of basic French phrases, essential Japanese, and must know Italian phrases before you go overseas to study one of these languages. You can also go the extra mile with these pre-departure tips for learning a language abroad.

5. You Want to Learn about Other Cultures

Let’s face it, language and culture go hand in hand. If you want to learn about Kenyan culture, Indian culture, or Chinese culture, you should probably learn some Swahili, Hindi, or Mandarin, respectively. It’s possible to do so otherwise, but there’s only so much you can learn from a book or a video. To truly understand a culture, you have to know what the people are talking about.

Imagine trying to learn about American culture without understanding English. Imagine trying to understand the humor of Dave Chappelle, or the lyrics of Bob Dylan, or the works of Shakespeare without actually knowing what the words mean. Cultural subtleties and pop culture references might be totally lost without some grasp of the local language.

6. It's Sexy

Most people like to hang around others who are similar to themselves, but there are a few people who enjoy meeting people who are different. People who think differently or act differently. And what better way to start diversifying your friend group than learning a new language?

Of course, sometimes making new friends leads to attracting a partner. You’ll hear a lot of people say that they find a certain language or accent to be really sexy. Think of Gael Garcia Bernal’s Spanish or Monica Bellucci’s Italian, and you start to get the idea (yes, they’re both beautiful people already, but the language certainly helps). Learn a famous poem in a foreign language and you might just have that certain person swooning over you -- especially since most of us think it's real sexy when our partner can speak a foreign language.

7. It'll Make You Smarter and in Better Mental Health

You might not be aware of this particular perk of learning a new language. New research published on the New York Times shows that being bilingual actually makes you smarter! So you don’t need to be interested in other cultures or overseas travel or improving your employability to enjoy the benefits of knowing a foreign language.

In a world that is increasingly interdependent, we can no longer afford to remain monolingual. Learning foreign languages is no longer a pastime: it is a necessity.

St. John's University

Studies have shown that speaking a second language can improve your cognitive skills, even those that don't relate to language at all. According to a Harvard study, bilingual babies showed advanced skills in monitoring changes in their environment, compared to monolingual babies. A University of Chicago study showed that thinking in a foreign language helps to reduce biases in your decision-making. There’s even research that has demonstrated that being bilingual can help delay the onset of dementia and other symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.

Learn a New Language; Take Your Life to a New Level

Of course, you’re not limited to having just one specific motivation to learn a new language – most people do it for a multitude of reasons. Mark from CET says, “We used to say there were two types of students who chose to study [a foreign language]: those who did it because they were turned on by the language and culture, and those that thought they could leverage their language skills into careers in business or government. I think the lines have blurred over the years, and it’s harder to see two distinct groups.”

Big words like polyglot and multilingual don’t scare us here at Go Overseas, and they shouldn’t scare you either. Learn a new language, and take your school, work, and life to a new level.
